SCHWÄBISCHE ZEITUNG / THEOPERAVIEWS: Requiem (Verdi)

The solos call for powerful voices that sometimes rise above the choir and orchestra while at the same time forming a harmonious ensemble: Ukrainian soprano Maryna Zubko performed the closing “Libera me” in particular with tremendous expressive depth and piano technique (Biberach, SCHWÄBISCHE ZEITUNG).

What was particularly impressive about Maryna Zubko were her pianos, which seemed to take flight. At the same time, her voice has now acquired the depth and power characteristic of the dramatic repertoire. It was precisely this combination of dramatic presence and a floating piano sound that lent her performance its tension (Ravensburg, THEOPERAVIEWS).
