DER OPERNFREUND
The leading roles were excellently cast with Markus Francke and Maryna Zubko: Francke has a tenor full of character, Zubko a free and expressive, yet not forcing treble; the sensitivities inherent in the opera since the spectacular premiere of the work in Berlin in 1821, when Mad. Seidler sang Agathe, is also present in the Ulm performance: not least due to Maryna Zubko.
AUGSBURGER ALLGEMEINE
Vocally, the soloists around the outstanding Maryna Zubko in the role of the fair and kitschy fair-haired bride Agathe are convincing.
SÜDWEST PRESSE
Exciting to follow: How Maryna Zubko, the colouratura specialist, now grows into the youthful, dramatic soprano role and delicately tackles the naive, dreamy Agathe.
