Ukrainian-German soprano Maryna Zubko, named Young Singer of the Year 2024<\/strong> in a critics\u2019 poll conducted by the trade journal Opernwelt<\/em> and a prize winner and finalist in many international singing competitions, has been celebrated by the regional and international press and acclaimed by audiences for her roles as Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, Agathe and Desdemona at the Theatre Ulm. In addition, the versatile soprano was awarded the Ulm Theatre Prize<\/strong> and named Singer of the Season<\/strong> for 2021\/2022 by the S\u00fcdwest Presse newspaper.<\/p>\n

During the 2026\/2027 season, Maryna Zubko will appear at the Landestheater Coburg as Violetta<\/strong> in La Traviata<\/em>, as Beatrice di Tenda<\/strong> in Bellini\u2019s opera of the same name and as Malwina<\/strong> in Marschner\u2019s romantic opera Der Vampyr<\/em>. Solo roles in numerous opera and operetta productions have taken Maryna Zubko to the stages of the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, the Theatre Heidelberg and the Immling Opera Festival, among others. As a vocal soloist, Maryna Zubko performs in concert with various renowned orchestras, including the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Prague Royal Philharmonic and the Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra. Her artistic activities have taken her to Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland, among other places. Maryna Zubko\u2019s interests range from Baroque to modern works, including the art song and oratorio repertoires.<\/p>\n

The world premiere of Charles Tournemire\u2019s opera Le petit pauvre d\u2019Assise<\/em>, blessed by Pope Francis and featuring Maryna Zubko as Claire d\u2019Assise, was voted Premiere of the Year 2025 <\/strong>by the trade journal Opernwelt<\/em>. She also is a prize winner of the Meistersinger Competition<\/em> in Rhineland-Palatinate, the International Lions Singing Competition<\/em> and the Oksana Petrusenko Singing Competition<\/em>, among others, and has received scholarships from the Richard Wagner Society (Kyiv and Ulm), the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (Stuttgart), the Peter Fuld Foundation and the Frankfurt Bach Concerts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Maryna Zubko completed her postgraduate studies in Solo Voice<\/em> at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Elena Pankratova. She earned her Master\u2019s degree in Opera<\/em> with honors and completed her Concert exam<\/em> at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts with Ursula Targler-Sell. She received her Master of Music art degree<\/em> with honors from the National Music Academy of Ukraine with Iryna Semenenko and her Bachelor\u2019s degree<\/em> in German Studies from Kyiv National Linguistic University. Saverio Suarez, Ivan Konsulov, C\u00e9sare Colona, Helmut Deutsch, Claudia Eder and Mariella Devia provided her with important input.<\/p>\n

The soprano works with conductors such as Timo Handschuh, Michael Weiger, Ulrike Blessing, Panagiotis Papadopoulos, Felix Bender, Nikolaus Henseler, Nikolai Petersen, Levente T\u00f6r\u00f6k, Walter Althammer, Cornelia von Kerssenbrock, Evan Alexis Christ, Otto Honeck and Volker Christ, as well as with directors such as Anthony Pilavachi, Kay Metzger, Hinrich Horstkotte, Wolf Widder, Ansgar Haag, Dietrich Hilsdorf, Ludwig Baumann and Rahel Thiel.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
